Taking to the sea and letting the unexpected shape the voyage.
Board the Captain Arctic, our exceptional solar sailboat designed to welcome only 36 privileged guests. Set course for Spitsbergen, the majestic realm of the polar bear, through silent, low-carbon sailings where imposing glaciers and sparkling sea ice reveal a breathtaking world.
As the voyage unfolds, Svalbard rolls out the three great landscapes of the Arctic: colourful tundras, steep mountains and immense ice caps. A wild, preserved territory where nature still lays down the law.
This wild theatre is home to exceptional fauna: walruses, seals, Arctic foxes and reindeer, immense seabird colonies and, undisputed master of these lands, the polar bear. As close as possible to the living world, Zodiac outings and hikes ashore punctuate the adventure — our itineraries remaining dependent on weather and ice conditions.
10 days and 9 nights from Longyearbyen, capital of Svalbard — glaciers, sea ice and Arctic wildlife, along the fjords of Spitsbergen. Itinerary given for guidance only, dependent on weather and ice conditions.
Arrival in Longyearbyen, capital of the Svalbard archipelago. Embarkation aboard the Captain Arctic and course set for the Far North.
Several glaciers flow into the sea here, including the Lilliehook, one of the most beautiful in the archipelago. Large bird colonies and historic sites.
The “blubber fjord” and its lace-like peaks: ice fronts, relics of the whalers and a fine walrus colony.
In the Liefdefjord, this glacier named in honour of the expeditions of Prince Albert I of Monaco. Alpine landscapes and islands teeming with birds.
The cliffs of Alkefjellet, carved from basalt, where nearly 300,000 seabirds breed.
Along the largest ice barrier in the northern hemisphere, between icebergs and waterfalls. Walruses and whales.
In the Sorgfjord, where the whalers of the 17th century clashed, in the heart of cold desert landscapes.
The Wijdefjord, carved with valleys capped by ice caps from which the highest summits of Svalbard emerge.
The most renowned of the bays: the peaks that gave the archipelago its name, bird colonies, walruses and historic remains.
Return to Longyearbyen. Disembarkation and return flights, with images to last a lifetime.
Activities on board, time dedicated to our theme and useful information to make the most of every stage.
Beyond the explorations, several moments of the voyage are devoted to our theme: sustainability, responsible sourcing and communication. On board or ashore, between two sailings, we set aside time for exchange and work designed to rethink value, confront perspectives and move your projects forward. In contact with a preserved natural world, everyone leaves with a new reading of their commitments and concrete leads.
Throughout the voyage, a dedicated lecturer accompanies you in French to shed light on the landscapes, wildlife and territories crossed.
